The Charity’s Objective:-
FOR THE RELIEF OF POVERTY, SICKNESS AND DISTRESS AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AMONGST PEOPLE IN AFRICA, IN PARTICULAR TO SUPPORT THE PEOPLE IN THE KOROGWE DISTRICT AND TANGA REGION OF TANZANIA WITH THE SUPPLIES OF CLEAN AND SAFE WATER BY, AMONGST OTHER THINGS, SPREADING AWARENESS AND EDUCATING SCHOOLS, GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, PARTICULARLY IN THE COUNTY OF DEVON, ABOUT LIFE AND EARLY MORTALITY CAUSED BY THE LACK OF CLEAN WATER.
The Charity Devon Aid – Korogwe ( DAK ) was registered on 3rd February 2000. Registered Number 1079253.
Principal Powers of Trustees:-
To raise funds and to invite and receive contributions.
To assist the non-governmental organisation in the villages in the Korogwe District, Tanga, Tanzania in the task of relieving poverty.
To foster understanding and co-operation between Devon and Korogwe District so that persons in Korogwe may have clean water, good health and appropriate education.
To collect and disseminate information on all matters affecting the said objective and exchange such information and to receive funds from other bodies and persons having similar objectives, whether in UK or overseas.
Trustees ensure all funds raised for the projects are used for the projects. Sponsors are sought for administration and travel costs. Visits are made annually to Korogwe to ensure the work is being carried out satifactorily and to assess further programmes.
